When might it be considered a pet emergency?
At your independent veterinary practice, Milton Keynes Veterinary Group, we deal with a varied workload and different presenting cases. These can include life threatening emergencies.
If you feel your pet is displaying signs of an emergency, please contact one of our branches immediately to speak with our Client Care team. Quick reactions will enable us to start your pet on the care they need at the earliest opportunity.
Emergency situations can include:
- Breathing difficulties – increased respiratory rate or a struggle to breathe
- Traumatic injuries or open wounds
- Eye injuries
- Being unable to urinate or unproductive straining
- Seizures or fitting
- Bloating in dogs
- Poisoning
- Heatstroke
- Difficulties in pregnancy or birthing
- Repeated vomiting
- Inability to move limbs or stand
- Collapse
- Gut stasis in Rabbits – if your bunny stops eating
- Swallowed a hazardous item or items
