Pet Dental Month: How often should you brush your pet’s teeth?
To help keep your pet’s teeth and gums healthy, it is recommended for your pet’s teeth to be brushed 2-4 times a week as part of their routine. If it is well tolerated by your pet and possible for every day tooth brushing then this will achieve the best results. The more time invested in your pet’s oral health will lower their risk of dental disease.
By regular tooth brushing, it will help reduce bad breath and plaque. If plaque is left untreated, it will calcify and harden which tartar is harder to be remove and will require a scale and polish procedure under general anaesthetic to remove.
If you are looking for guidance on the right products to use, please do not hesitate to ask our veterinary nurses or surgeons on your next visit.
