How We Deliver Sustainable Veterinary Surgery at MKVG

Here at MKVG, we are proud to provide sustainable surgery whilst delivering high quality veterinary care. 

We supply our team with washable fabric scrub hats to avoid single use versions, alongside reusable fabric gowns for the majority of procedures, which are autoclaved (sterilised) after use.

We ensure that our recyclable packaging is kept separate to any clinical items to avoid contamination, and we only open items when they are required rather than ahead of the procedure in case they may be needed. 

We use water free hand sterilisation prior to surgical procedures, minimising both our water and paper towel usage. 

For our dental procedures, we use sterilisation tins rather than single use blue wrap to cover the instruments, avoiding items which have less sustainable disposal. We also use washable bedding and special dental mats to reduce patient wetting and avoid waste.
