How can you recognise Osteoarthritis in your pet?

An arthritic joint may be stiff to move or have a reduced range of movement and not be able to bend as much as it used to.
Pain: pets will not normally show excessive pain however you may notice signs like slowing down, getting stiff, eating or playing less or other behavioural changes.

• Lameness or stiffness, typically in the mornings or after exercise
• Tender or swollen joints
• Restlessness or difficulty getting comfortable
• Licking at their joints

A natural progression with these symptoms or as our pet’s age is a reduction in exercise, which can lead to muscle loss and weight gain, both of which are detrimental to the condition.
