Stanley’s Story: Recovering After a Bone Became Trapped Around His Jaw
Stanley recently visited Milton Keynes Veterinary Group after a bone became trapped around his lower jaw, leaving him in need of urgent veterinary care.
After speaking with our Client Care Advisors, Stanley’s owners brought him straight to the practice, where our team was ready to help. Following an examination, Stanley was safely sedated so Vet and Director Debbie Kilkenny could carefully remove the trapped bone using an oscillating saw.
Once the procedure was complete, our nursing team monitored Stanley closely as he recovered from his sedation. Thankfully, everything went smoothly, and he was able to head home later that same day.
We’re delighted to say that Stanley has since made a fantastic recovery and is back to enjoying life with his family.

Are bones safe for dogs?
Many dogs enjoy chewing bones, but they can sometimes cause serious problems. Bones can become stuck around the jaw, damage teeth, splinter and injure the mouth or digestive tract, or even create a choking hazard.
